1971 International Scout II Aluminum Parking Sign
The International Scout is an off-road vehicle which was produced by International Harvester from 1961 to 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come. The original version of the Scout was created as a competitor to the Jeep. The vehicle was developed and produced in a short time, taking less than two years to complete. The Scout line was introduced to the public on January 1961. Available as either a 2WD or 4WD version and equipped with 4-cylidner engine. The Scout 80 was the designation for the vehicles produced from 1961 through the mid-1965. The Scout, introduced as a commercial utility pickup in 1960, set the stage for future 4-wheel drive recreational vehicles of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, a true Legend!
