Jaguar Collection of Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines
“The Swallow Sidecar Company” was founded in 1922 by two motorcycle enthusiasts: William Lyons and William Walmsley soon leading to “SS Cars Ltd.”. In 1935 the “SS Jaguar” name appeared for the first time The name was changed to “Jaguar” after World War II to avoid the unfavourable connotations of the SS initials. Jaguar made its name by producing a series of beautiful sports cars, such as the XK 120 and the E-Type, but also by competing in motorsport at the highest level and winning the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1951, 53 and sadly in 1955. Two more wins were added in 1956 and 1957 by Team Ecosse. In spite of such performance orientation, it was always Lyons' intention to build the business by producing world-class sporting saloons in larger numbers than the sports cars market could support. Jaguar secured a reputation for excellence with a series of elegantly styled luxury saloons. A true British and Beautiful Legend.
