Ford Europe Capri Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines
Production of the Capri began on 14 December 1968 at Ford's Halewood plant in the UK and two days later at the Cologne plant in West Germany. The Capri was unveiled in January 1969 at the Brussels Motor Show, with sales starting the following month. Ford began selling the Capri in the Australian market in 1969, in the North American and South African markets in 1970. All North American versions carried no "Ford" badging, as the Capri was sold by only Lincoln-Mercury dealers and promoted to US drivers as "the sexy European". When the last Capri was made on 19 December 1986 at the Ford factory in Cologne, exactly 1,886,647 Capris had rolled off the production lines.
