1951 Oldsmobile Super 88 Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines
The new Super 88 series was styled completely differently from the 88 series and had more in common with the 98s. With its five body styles, the Super 88 offered the Olds buyer more selections than the other Olds series. A DeLuxe package of equipment was offered that included items as low-pressure tires, special interior chrome door trim, exposed chromed roof bows, and dual rear quarter courtesy lights. Upholstery choices were colored leathers, nylon cloth, or nylon cord. For 1951, the only engine available was the high-compression Rocket V-8 engine which displaced 303 cubic-inches and offered 135 horsepower. The Super 88 designation was new for 1951. The 1951 Super 88 was available as a 2- and 4-door sedan, convertible, club coupe, and Holiday Hardtop. Pricing began at $1,930 for the club coupe and rose to over $2,330 for the convertible. Standard equipment on the 1951 Oldsmobile included a cigarette lighter, bumper guards, stainless steel moldings, a dome light, lined trunk, and rubber floor mats.
